2016 Calendars are in stock

Date Published
7th December 2015

Similar to last year, I have just produced a small edition of calendars featuring images shot throughout 2015.

This year the images come mostly from Japan, with a few also from the Shetland Isles and the Faroe Islands. The cover image is a salmon farm in a fjord (seen below). The lights in the nets make for a very mysterious and otherworldly atmosphere but their function is purely scientific, as they control the maturation rate and vertical spread of the fish within.

May’s image is actually a scan of a glass plate negative found in an abandoned residence in northern Japan. In May 2016 I will be holding a solo exhibition at Artsite Gallery in Sydney which is a close study of this property, melding these old found photographs with my own images of the site as it is now, almost 100 years since its construction. The exhibition is called “The Taisho Photographer’s House”.

If you would like to purchase a calendar, feel free to contact me here.

The rest of the calendar’s images can also be seen in the slideshow below.
